Shami Expects Preliminary Agreement with IMF by Year's End
Technical negotiations with the IMF are almost over, Deputy Prime Minister Saade Shami
said Thursday, after meeting with President Michel Aoun in Baabda.
“We have entered the stage of negotiating monetary and economic policies to start serious talks with the IMF team,” Shami said.
“Our aim is to reach a preliminary agreement by the end of the year and a final agreement in January,” he added.
