French Presidential Envoy Pierre Duquesne’s visit to Lebanon is a serious French endeavor to support Lebanon, diplomatic sources said.
The sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper, in remarks published Tuesday, that Duquesne’s visit “is not exploratory,” but rather shows a French tangible willingness to “revive Lebanon’s chances to overcome its crisis.”
France has noticed “positive developments in the negotiations between Lebanon and the IMF,” the French envoy said Monday, adding that “an agreement with the IMF might open the door to dialogue over the CEDRE Conference projects.”
