Interior Minister Bassam al-Mawlawi on Monday signed a decree calling for parliamentary elections to be held in May 2022.
According to the decree, expats will cast their votes abroad on May 6 and May 8.
Electoral workers in Lebanon will meanwhile vote on May 12 while citizens residing in Lebanon will vote on May 15.
In a tweet, Mawlawi said his signing of the decree “reflects the seriousness of the Interior Ministry and Lebanese government as to holding the parliamentary elections within the constitutional deadlines, in line with what mentioned in the ministerial statement and what the government pledged to the local and international communities.”
