Girl Drowns in Frozen Lake in Kfardebian
Hiba Rmeid, 17, drowned on Sunday in a frozen lake in Kfardebian, reported MTV.
According to witnesses, Hiba and her brother Ahmed were practicing photography in the area when she fell through the ice on the frozen lake.
He brother sustained some injuries in the accident and has been taken to Saint Georges Hospital in Ajaltoun.
Civil defense teams struggled to get to the scene due to the poor weather conditions.
Rmeid’s body was eventually recovered by the rescue team after they successfully broke through the surface of the ice.
