Firefighters managed to extinguish a huge fire that erupted in an aluminum factory in Zouk Mosbeh on Monday.
The National News Agency said that the fire erupted at 6:30 am in an aluminum factory for Paul Mekhashen.
According to NNA the fire only caused material damage as plumes of black smoke rising from fire reached Amsheet.
Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) reported that civil defense teams, the Internal Security Forces, and four fire trucks headed to the scene.
Head of Zouk Mosbeh municipality Charbel Merhi told VDL earlier that only two fire trucks are near the factory, urging the fire department to send more.
Initial information obtained said that the fire erupted at a cork factory.
According to reports, the fire erupted in a small part of the facility.
“There is a big gas canister at the factory that can cause a disaster in the area,” Merhi said.
VDL said that primary information said that the cause of the fire is an electric wire friction.
