Bassil Signs Fuel Price List without Raising Costs
Caretaker Energy Minister Jebran Bassil on Friday signed the fuel price list without raising the cost of gasoline to consumers.
A statement issued by the Energy Ministry said Bassil kept gasoline prices of all grades the same.
It said Bassil's move was a "temporary measure pending the compliance of the Higher Customs Council with a decision issued by the Ministry of Energy and Water to lower the cost of gasoline to consumers."
The pricing came shortly after caretaker Finance Minister Raya al-Hasan urged Bassil to issue the fuel price list.
"Issue the price list so that we can get approval for gasoline price cuts," al-Hasan told Bassil.
