The Israeli army has hosted a U.S. Democratic Congressional Delegation organized by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
The delegation of 24 House Democrats was led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Congressman Steny Hoyer.
The delegation toured an Iron Dome battery and "Hezbollah’s terrorist tunnels" in northern Israel, the Israeli army said Friday on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.
"With this trip, House Democrats reaffirm our commitment to the special relationship between the United States and Israel," Jeffries said before his second visit to Israel this year.
“We reiterate our ironclad commitment to the safety and security of Israel and to the existence of Israel as a prosperous and Jewish democratic state," he added.
The Israeli army said it held "productive discussions" with the U.S. delegation on shared security challenges & "strengthening the ironclad bond between Israel and the U.S."
