Israeli airstrikes and shells target several southern towns
Israeli warplanes on Sunday carried out a strike on the Abou al-Laban neighborhood in the southern border town of Aita al-Shaab, the National News Agency said.
Warplanes also targeted two houses in the southern town of Yaroun, causing no casualties, NNA said.
Israeli artillery shelling meanwhile targeted the Beit Leef valley.
The Israeli army for its part said it targeted "Hezbollah infrastructure" in Yaroun and "eliminated threats" with artillery shelling on Alma al-Shaab and Dhayra.
Hezbollah had on Saturday attacked six Israeli posts in northern Israel and the occupied Shebaa Farms.
Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging near-daily fire across the border since the Israel-Hamas war broke out on October 7.
The cross-border exchanges have killed at least 268 people on the Lebanese side, most of them Hezbollah fighters but also 40 civilians. On the Israeli side, 10 soldiers and six civilians have been killed, according to the Israeli army.
The fighting has also displaced tens of thousands of residents on both sides of the border and Israel has repeatedly warned that it might use force against Hezbollah to secure its residents' return amid ongoing indirect negotiations over a political solution.
