Hezbollah's Qassem vows to fight on, says Nasrallah to be replaced at earliest opportunity

Hezbollah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem on Monday eulogized Hezbollah’s slain leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in a televised address and announced that Hezbollah will fight on.

"Know that Sayyed Nasrallah will always be among us,” Qassem told Hezbollah’s fighters and members.

Saying that “there was no meeting for 20 officials” when Nasrallah was targeted, as Israel has claimed, Qassem said that Israel is carrying out massacres across Lebanon.

“The U.S. is assisting Israel with all its capabilities … and Israel is delusional if it thinks that it can achieve its goals through war,” he added.

Stressing that Hezbollah has persevered despite all the unprecedented attacks, Qassem underlined that Hezbollah will continue “Nasrallah's path and Hezbollah will continue its goals.”

“We will not renounce our stances and the resistance will continue to assist Palestine,” he added.

“We know that the battle might be lengthy … and if the enemy decides to enter by land, our fighters are prepared and we will emerge victorious,” he said.

“Israel will not be able to degrade our military capabilities,” Qassem emphasized, adding that Hezbollah will pick a secretary-general for the party as soon as possible.

Qassem also hailed “national unity” in Lebanon, thanking the government, political forces and all NGOs and hospitals.
