Thieves in Separate Crimes Run Off with over LL15 Million

Syrian national, Abdul Hamid al-Amin, succeeded in stealing LL15 million from his Lebanese friend, George Elias Farha, reported the National News Agency on Saturday.

It said that Amin and Farha were headed to meet a third person when the latter forgot his mobile phone in his car.

Amin went to retrieve the phone where he likely found the LL15 million in the car, which were hidden underneath the driver’s seat.

Investigations are underway with the robber’s friends in order to determine his whereabouts.

In the town of Qabarshmoul in Aley, three masked gunmen fired at and wounded farm worker Ahmed Abdul Rajih before robbing him of his money.

In Sin al-Fil in Beirut, two armed gunmen robbed Dr. Carlos Nicolas behind the Habtoor Hotel, making off with LL400,000, as well as his identification papers.

All the thieves in the three incidents remain at large.
