Syrian FM says agreed with Salam on steps to end 'plight of Syrian prisoners'
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani announced that he agreed with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on practical steps to “end the plight of Syrian prisoners in Lebanon.”
After a meeting with Salam on the sidelines of the Arab Summit in Baghdad, Shaibani wrote on X: “We discussed the need to expedite ending the plight of Syrian prisoners in Lebanon.”
“We agreed on some practical steps in this regard and we stress the Syrian government’s full keenness on finalizing this file as soon as possible,” Shaibani added.
