Two killed in Israeli drone strike on car in Toul

An Israeli drone struck Friday a car in the southern town of Toul, killing two people and wounding two others, a day after Israeli strikes in eastern and southern Lebanon killed four people, including an elderly woman.

Later in the day, a drone targeted the southern border town of Mays al-Jabal. No casualties were reported.

Israel has repeatedly bombed Lebanon despite a November ceasefire, which brought to an end more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah that culminated in two months of open war.

As part of that deal, Israeli forces were to withdraw from southern Lebanon and Hezbollah was to dismantle its forces in the region.

Under U.S. pressure and fearing an escalation of Israeli strikes, the Lebanese government has moved to begin disarming Hezbollah, a plan which the militant group and its allies oppose.
