Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates after airstrikes against oil facilities on Iran's Lavan island on Wednesday morning, state television reported.
"Missile and drone attacks on the Emirates and Kuwait have taken place a few hours after the targeting of Lavan island oil facilities in Iran," IRIB said in a report.
State TV also quoted the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company as saying the Lavan Oil Refinery facility on the island "was subjected to a cowardly attack" at 10 am (0630 GMT).
Kuwait on Wednesday reported Iranian attacks that have been ongoing from 8am local time and damaged power and desalination plants as well as oil facilities, hours after an Iran-US truce came into effect.
"Since 8:00 AM (0500 GMT) today, Kuwaiti air defenses have been engaging an intense wave of hostile Iranian attacks, dealing with 28 drones targeting the State of Kuwait," Kuwait's military said in a statement on X.
It said it "intercepted a large number of these hostile drones" but that the attacks caused "significant material damage to oil facilities, power plants and water desalination plants".
The United Arab Emirates also said it was dealing with missiles and drones coming from Iran, hours after the truce came into effect.
"The UAE's air defenses are currently engaging missile and drone attacks originating from Iran," the ministry of defense said in a statement on X.
