Report: Hariri to Urge Lebanese Not to Link Fate of Any Party to Syria

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri is expected to make a speech through a giant screen during the announcement of a new political document by his al-Mustaqbal movement on Wednesday, An Nahar daily said.

According to An Nahar, Hariri will invite all Lebanese to consolidate Lebanon and urge them not to link the fate of any party to the Syrian regime.

He will also reiterate that Hizbullah should disarm itself, the newspaper said.

The document, entitled “al-Mustaqbal and the Prospects of the Arab Spring,” will be launched at Center House.

It stresses support for the Taef Accord, coexistence, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon that is probing ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s Feb. 2005 assassination, and the right of the people to freedom and democracy.

Hariri, who has been residing in Paris since he suffered fractures to his leg in a ski accident in the Alps in January, will travel to Saudi Arabia, An Nahar said, without providing any date.
