Houthi-linked media Al-Masirah said Tuesday the Saudi-led coalition has carried out airstrikes against oil facilities in west of Sanaa. It didn’t not provide any evidence.
The report came shortly after a warning from the Saudi-led coalition spokesman calling on residents in the area to evacuate for their safety. Witnesses in the city said they heard explosions in Sanaa. It was not immediately clear what was hit.
The Saudi-led military coalition had earlier issued an evacuation warning for an oil facility.
"The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition requests that civilians evacuate the site of the Yemen Petroleum Company -- the al-Sabaha Central Station in Sanaa... for their own safety," spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki wrote on X, attaching a map of the location on the city's outskirts.
This prompted Yemen's Houthis to warn civilians and employees to evacuate areas near Saudi Aramco facilities across the kingdom an at Riyadh's airport and an oil refinery.
"The Yemeni Armed Forces warn all employees and citizens near any facility belonging to Aramco oil to evacuate it and move away from it, as it is a legitimate target for our forces," military spokesman Yahya Saree posted on X.
