Salam and Qatari PM discuss diplomatic efforts
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has held phone talks with Qatari PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which they reviewed cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, as well as the latest regional developments.
The two premiers particularly discussed the “ongoing diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and strengthen security and stability in the region,” Qatar’s foreign ministry said.
During the call, the Qatari premier stressed Doha’s “support for all diplomatic efforts and endeavors aimed at a solution that guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and paves the way for reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.”
He also reaffirmed “the State of Qatar's firm position in support of Lebanon's stability and territorial integrity, as well as its continuous standing alongside the brotherly Lebanese people,” the Qatari foreign ministry said.
