Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel stressed on Wednesday the need for the March 14 camp to adopt more organized and practical approaches, saying that it should take “clearer positions on Hizbullah’s arms, Palestinian refugees’ naturalization, and other contentious issues.”
He added before a student delegation: “March 14, 2011, will be an opportunity to announce our commitment to independence, sovereignty, and limiting arms possession to the Lebanese army and security forces.”
He repeated the party’s commitment to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, hoping that the indictment in the investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri will be announced soon.
Addressing the government formation process, Gemayel said: “We consider the government a national service that allows us to achieve stability in the country.”
“Participation in Cabinet is a national duty, not a privilege,” he stressed.
