Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat noted on Wednesday that implementing reform would help end the crisis in Bahrain.
He stressed in a statement the need to “launch political dialogue between the ruling authorities and the opposition in order to reach a political solution that can bolster stability in the kingdom.”
“This will help provide all the components of proper living standards for all factions of Bahraini society,” he added.
“It will also guarantee the legitimate political rights for all sides,” stated the Druze chief.
Furthermore, Jumblat noted that political dialogue would help prevent Bahrain from being transformed into an open ground for foreign and regional disputes that do not serve the interests of the kingdom’s people.
He also said that the “release of political prisoners and staging of peaceful demonstrations would help provide the necessary conditions to hold dialogue, bolster the chances of its success, and defeat those seeking to destabilize Bahrain.”
The Shiite-dominated Bahrain has witnessed demonstrations over the past year demanding democratic change in the Sunni-ruled kingdom.
