Jose Mourinho on Tuesday agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid for two years which will keep him with the club until the end of the 2015-16 season.
The 49-year-old Portuguese manager led Madrid to its first Spanish league title in four years this season to add to the Copa del Rey win during his first campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Under Mourinho's guidance, Madrid set both the league scoring record with 121 goals and the points record with 100 en route to its 32nd league crown this season.
"Continuing my career under Mourinho is great because he helps me to keep getting better," said Madrid star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
"It's amazing to work with him because right now he is the number one," said Ronaldo, who broke a club record by scoring 46 league goals this season.
Before taking over Real Madrid, Mourinho coached Inter Milan, Chelsea, and FC Porto.
