Fleas Raid Halba Serail in Akkar

Maintenance and cleaning workers rushed to the Halba Serail in the northern province of Akkar on Friday to spray pesticides to get rid of an outbreak of fleas, rats and cats.

The “invasion” forced the employees of the Serail to quit the building, news reports said.

Unnamed sources from the Serail told Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) that poor hygiene was the reason behind the fleas outbreak in addition to the spread of pests, untamed trees and garbage around the premises.

Meanwhile, Halba municipality chief, Said Halabi, attributed the reason to a dead dog close by.
