A youth managed to escape his kidnappers a day after being abducted in the Bekaa region of Baalbek, reported the National News Agency on Friday.
It said that Mohammed Tareq Makkiyeh returned home at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday after succeeding in escaping his abductors.
He was kidnapped by a gang from his car on the Baalbek-Deir al-Ahmar road at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The gang telephoned his mother on Friday morning, demanding a ransom of $300,000, sad NNA.
Makkiyeh later recounted however that the army’s intensifying of its patrols in the area “confused the kidnappers” and he managed to flee after the abductors sensed that they had fallen victim to an army ambush.
