Charbel Grants Qahwaji Interior Ministry’s Competency Medal
Interior Minister Marwan Charbel granted Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji on Wednesday the ministry’s competency medal as a token of appreciation for his efficiency.
Charbel praised the role played by the military institution in seeking to maintain stability and security in the country.
He stressed that no one has an interest in creating security tension in Lebanon.
For his part, Qahwaji pointed out that the “political incitement affected the country and escalated the tension” between Lebanese foes.
“We refuse to back down or resign despite all the challenges,” he said.
He noted that dialogue and consensus are the only ways to salvage Lebanon.
