Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour on Thursday expected the cabinet to make diplomatic appointments next week to improve the performance of his ministry.
In remarks to al-Akhbar daily, Mansour said the draft bill on the diplomatic appointments will be referred to the general-secretariat of the cabinet within days.
The vacancies in the foreign ministry are among the reasons that hindered its good performance, he told the newspaper.
In addition to the vacancies in the posts of 60 ambassadors, the ministry is suffering from vacated posts in its secretariat and the departments of protocol and administrative and political affairs, Mansour said.
He expected the cabinet to make the appointments without any hindrance next week.
