Russia will offer to host the next round of international talks on the Syria crisis if some progress is made in Geneva on Saturday, Russian news agencies reported.
"Russia will propose holding such a meeting in Moscow," the Russian source close to the ongoing negotiations in Geneva was quoted as saying by Interfax.
"According to existing plans, Syrians will be represented as well," the source said.
The state-run RIA Novosti news agency said Russia's decision to propose another round of talks in Moscow will depend on the current meeting's success.
"We could propose holding the next meeting in Moscow, but this will depend on the outcome of today's discussion," the source said.
Russia had earlier expressed strong objections over Syrian ally Iran's omission from Saturday's talks in Geneva.
The source did not say when the suggested meeting might be held.
