A percussion grenade was tossed near the house of al-Mustaqbal bloc MP Khaled al-Daher in the northern district of Akkar at dawn Wednesday, the National News Agency reported.
NNA said the grenade landed in an olive grove 30 meters away from the lawmaker’s house in the town of Tebnine.
But al-Daher was not home when the incident took place, the agency added.
“This is an act of sabotage,” he told Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3).
The MP is a harsh critic of the government led by Premier Najib Miqati and the Hizbullah-led March 8 coalition.
Last month, al-Daher criticized the residents of the Tripoli district of Jabal Mohsen, who are followers of Syrian President Bashar Assad, for allegedly opening fire on the mainly Sunni residents of Bab al-Tabbaneh.
The fighting has left at least 12 people injured although al-Daher said Bab al-Tabbaneh’s residents did not return fire when attacked from Jabal Mohsen.
He also accused Hizbullah of causing tension across the country to support the Syrian regime.
