Samaha’s Interrogation to Be Resumed after Fitr Holiday

The interrogation of former minister and MP Michel Samaha continued on Thursday amid reports that the concerned authorities were going to broadcast before the media items that were seized from the official’s vehicle, reported the National News Agency.

The interrogation was conducted at the Military Tribunal by Judge Riyad Abu Ghaida and lasted an hour-and-a-half.

The next interrogation session will be held after the Fitr holiday, said NNA.

Meanwhile, the items seized from his vehicle were set to be broadcast before the media at the Internal Security Forces genera directorate headquarters in Ashrafiyeh.

The concerned judicial authorities however prohibited the broadcast.

Abu Ghaida meanwhile denied ahead of the interrogation that he was preparing a memo related to Syrian security chief General Ali Mamlouk to be sent to the Syrian Embassy.

Government deputy Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Sami Sader charged on Saturday Samaha and Mamlouk with forming a group to commit crimes in Lebanon.

The two were also charged with plotting to assassinate political and religious figures.
