The Phalange Party stressed on Monday the need to speed up the formation of the new government given the regional and local developments.
It said in a statement after its weekly politburo meeting: “These developments demand that the formation take a new turn that would not necessarily abide by the rules that the current formation is adopting.”
“The current political and security developments entail that a one-sided or a technocratic government should not be formed,” it stressed.
Those concerned with the formation process should launch new consultations to form a government “that can restore trust in Lebanon on the internal and external scenes.”
The Phalange Party also urged the need to renovate prisons in Lebanon according to international standards in a way that would ensure the inmates’ security and dignity.
