Mona Kanj Released after 2-Day Kidnap Ordeal

A woman kidnapped on Tuesday was released and returned to her family on Thursday without a ransom , OTV and Future TV reported.

Mona Kanj was taken by force from her home in the Shouf region and her kidnappers asked for $600,000 as a condition to release her.

"The abductors attacked the victim's husband upon his arrival to the family's home,” LBCI said, explaining that they later fled with Kanj in Ali Sharafeddine's (the husband) car.

LBCI added that the couple's Syrian doorman is the main suspect, along with his Lebanese wife who hails from the Bekaa town of Britel.
