A police patrol suspected on Tuesday a minibus in al-Balah street in the Dora area of Beirut's northern suburb and ordered it to stop with a loudspeaker, LBCI television reported.
The minibus did not respond to the police's calls and took off rapidly, which caused it to smash into a cement blockage and two cars on the street.
"Two of the four men on the bus were injured and arrested while the others tried to escape,” LBCI said, explaining that they ran towards St. John's church in the area.
LBCI added: “The police was able to detain the remaining two suspects while the injured men were transferred to a hospital for treatment”.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the four suspects were attempting a theft operation in Dora.
