Lebanese Fisherman Injured after Coming under Fire from Syrian Boat
A Syrian boat entered Lebanese territorial waters and opened fire on a Lebanese fishing boat off the northern coast of Arida, injuring a fisherman, the state-run National News Agency reported Friday.
NNA identified the fisherman as Khaled Ahmed al-Ali. Media reports said he was injured in the leg.
In a similar incident last year, a Lebanese teen was killed and his uncle injured when the Syrian navy opened fire on them.
The gunmen then forced the two fishermen along with a second uncle into Syria, where the boy died of his wounds.
The other two were later released.
