Israelis Troops Cross Shebaa Farms Border, Nab Lebanese Shepherd

A 15-member Israeli commando force on Monday crossed the border of the occupied Shebaa Farms and abducted Lebanese shepherd Youssef Hussein Rhayyel who hailed from the town of Shebaa, state-run National News Agency reported.

Rhayyel was kidnapped after the force advanced 600-800 meters into Lebanon, north of the al-Marsad military post.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) is communicating with the Israeli army in a bid to secure the release of the shepherd, NNA said.

In the evening, LBCI and al-Manar TV networks reported that Rhayyel was freed.

Last week, the Israeli army kidnapped two shepherds from a region near the town of Shebaa. They were released one day later following a mediation by UNIFIL.
