A resident of the northern city of Tripoli was released on Tuesday after being briefly held and interrogated in the suburbs of Beirut.
"Azzam al-Merehbi called his brother and informed him that he was on his way home,” the state-run National News Agency reported.
The NNA added: "He said he was interrogated by the group that arrested him and then, he was let go.”
MTV had said earlier that al-Merehbi was kidnapped in Beirut's suburbs, remarking that his relatives have accused Hizbullah of abducting him.
Al-Merehbi, who is a former General Security member that currently works as a bus driver, hails from the northern Akkar district and resides in Tripoli's Abi Samra neighborhood, according to the NNA.
