Morocco Busts Qaida-Linked 'Terrorist' Cell
Morocco has dismantled a "terrorist" cell whose members had ties with leaders of al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb and plotted attacks, the interior ministry said on Friday.
Four suspects were arrested when authorities "dismantled a terrorist cell," it said in a statement.
The suspects had forged "ties to coordinate with some leaders" of al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb and were active in the central cities of Fes, Meknes, Taounate and Tiznit.
Their alleged group leader "planned to carry out a targeted terrorist operation" and was accused of "incitement to sabotage state institutions".
