22-year-old Karen Ghrawi was crowned on Saturday Miss Lebanon 2013 in a huge ceremony at the Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center BIEL.
Miss Lebanon 2012, Rina Chibani handed over the crown to Karen, who reserved her spot in Miss World pageant that will be held in Indonesia on September 28.
The event, in which 15 women participated, was organized by LBC TV network and presented by news anchor and political show host Dima Sadeq.
The first runner-up was Jose Rita Azizi, Christina Dagher was the second runner-up, Dania Qobeissy was the third runner-up, while Nay Riachi was the fourth runner-up.
The 15 participants competed to win the title as a jury composed of 9 members evaluated them.
The jury was formed of prominent figures in the Lebanese society in addition to politicians.
Free Patriotic Movement MP Alain Aoun, March 14 MP Nayla Tueni, talk show anchor – media figure Marcel Ghanem, fashion designer Zuhair Murad and several others were among the jury.
Singer Assi el-Helani performed his hits during the ceremony.
And Anthony Touma also made his way through the participants, performing several songs while they modeled their evening gowns.
Karen is an Interior Design student. She’s 175 cm tall and weighs 58 kgs.
She will also be able to participate in Miss Universe pageant in Russia in November 9.
