Unknown assailants kidnapped a Syrian national on Monday on the Taanayel road in the Bekaa and asked for a huge ransom for his release.
"Ahmed Kamal al-Azeb was abducted while he was inside his white Peugeot car in Taanayel,” the state-run National News Agency reported, pointing out that the vehicle is still in the Mahalla area.
LBCI television noted that al-Azeb, born in 1991, works with his father at a flower plantation.
The kidnappers are asking for a $1.5 million as a ransom to release him, the same source later detailed.
The NNA elaborated: "The kidnappers called al-Azeb's father and asked for $1.5 million as a ransom. They informed him that his son is now in Syria and that the amount of money must be paid or else, Ahmed al-Azeb would be killed."
