Israel's army destroyed in an air strike Saturday the 13-floor building housing Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television and American news agency The Associated Press in the Gaza Strip, AFP journalists said.

Israel "destroyed Jala Tower in the Gaza Strip, which contains the Al-Jazeera office and other international press offices," Al-Jazeera said in a tweet, with an AP journalist saying the army had warned the tower's owner ahead of the strike.

This is part of the systematic destruction of Palestinian lives and collective punishment. Israel's message: either you submit or we will destroy anything that is worth anything. The people who live in these buildings and the businesses that are housed there are mainly Middle class and not part of the natural constituency of Hamas. A good percentage of the IT and technology sectors was located in those building destroyed by Israel and now they will need to rebuild and many will be closed down.

These building did not have military value. They were destroyed as a collective punishment. What a terrible country! What a terrible government!

These building did not have military value.
Of course not, it only housed the Hamas Security Headquarters, but that didn't bother Al-Jazeera, who were probably sharing information with them.
