Aoun, Berri, Miqati Hold 'Serious Dialogue' in Baabda Meeting
President Michel Aoun, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Najib Miqati held a meeting Monday at the Baabda Palace after overseeing a military parade marking Lebanon’s Independence Day.
“Independence would not have been achieved had the Lebanese not gathered shoulder to shoulder in Rashaya,” Miqati said after the talks.
“Understanding and dialogue are the foundations and being distant creates estrangement,” the premier added.
“Today’s meeting represented serious dialogue and, God willing, it will lead to a good outcome,” Miqati went on to say.
The Miqati-headed Cabinet has not convened since October 14 over a dispute related to Judge Tarek Bitar’s probe into the Beirut port explosion. Berri’s Amal Movement, Hizbullah and the Marada Movement have called for the judge’s removal over alleged bias.
You mean all this times they have been messing around without an agenda, only now they are getting serious! what a bunch of clowns.
In few words, we all know the cancer in Lebanon. Whereas corruption can be prosecuted at future time when we have real justice and independence, any politician suggesting any compromise with HizbIran arms is a traitor, including Jumblat and the likes. HizbIran must be disarmed for Lebanon to have a chance. Very easy: Cedar Revolution I kicked Syrian army out. Cedar Revolution II will force disarming HizbIran. Anyone suggesting compromise is a Useful Idiot and equally responsible for Hizbollah crimes. Enough talking heads!
