President Aoun meets U.N. Special Coordinator
President Michel Aoun on Tuesday told U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka that Lebanon is committed to Resolution 1701, while Israel is constantly violating the Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea and air.
Aoun stressed the importance of the collaboration between the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the Lebanese Army, as he affirmed his willingness to carry out reforms and resume the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund.

Aoun was heard to say "What does 1701 say about disarming militias? Why would you think I said or meant anything about that? Don't you know that there is a Zionist Entity nearby and it is coming for our women and children? My ayatollah said so ... so it must be true"

President Aoun claims that Lebanon is complying with Resolution 1701. So, can he please explain to the people why, in non-compliance with this resolution he continues to allow Hizballah to be south of the Litani, why does he allow non-governmental organisations to carry arms, why did he allow Hizballah to dig tunnels across the southern border, how is it that UNIFIL forces are not allowed to enter the areas close to the border which are illegally occupied by Hizballah forces..
Before he complains about the other side being in non-compliance with the resolution, he should firstly force the compliance on his own side of the border.
