LF MP says Franjieh nomination may activate presidential file
Hezbollah and the Amal Movement’s nomination of Suleiman Franjieh for the presidency was not a “surprising move” but it might “activate the presidential election file,” MP Ghassan Hasbani of the Lebanese Forces said on Wednesday.
He however noted, in remarks to Radio All of Lebanon, that the Shiite Duo’s candidate “does not enjoy the needed majority.”
Moreover, Hasbani said that the LF is “not communicating with the Free Patriotic Movement over the issue of blocking sessions’ quorum, while the channels of communication are open with the rest of the opposition blocs.”
Hasbani also said that the LF is still clinging to MP Michel Mouawad’s nomination until the moment.
“There is no use from proposing new names, because the numbers might change when the vote enters its serious course,” Hasbani added.

At this phase, an advise to all leaders and parties who believe in sovereignty and Cedar Revolution principles is to elect Frangieh and an M8 prime minister (Miquati or similar). Then sit aside while Lebanon crumble and people rise in arms against the rulers, Hizbollah, its Useful Idiots, and the whole political mafia that bankrupted Lebanon since 2019. Cedar Revolution II would then be inevitable. It will clear the ground and set the foundation of new Lebanon with no arms outside army; a government with a clear mission and detailed plan vetted by experts; Cedar Revolution principles of democracy, sovereignty, freedom, independence and justice; and none of the political mafia.
