Gemayel holds Hezbollah responsible for Ain al-Helweh clashes
Kataeb Party chief Sami Gemayel has held responsible for the deadly clashes in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Helweh near Sidon.
“With the presence of Lebanese and non-Lebanese armed militias on Lebanese soil, the Ain al-Helweh clashes are a normal result of that,” Gemayel said in an interview with al-Hurra television.
Asked about “Hezbollah’s responsibility” as to the events in the camp, Gemayel said: “Hezbollah is responsible for two reasons: the first is that Hezbollah is preventing the rise of the state and preventing it from extending its authority over all territories. It is also preventing the exclusivity of arms and it is responsible for arms proliferation because it is giving the example through the presence of its armed militia.”
“The second reason is that it is engaged in the conflict among the Palestinian factions by backing some of them in Palestine, coordinating with some in Lebanon and playing a role in the power struggle among these factions,” Gemayel added.
“The state is absent and Hezbollah and the parliament speaker are taking the decisions and negotiating on behalf of the Lebanese, as happened in the (sea) border demarcation file, when the state was in the forefront while in fact it was Hezbollah that was negotiating with Israel through the Lebanese state,” the Kataeb leader went on to say.
How blind can people be? What have Hizb done for the hundred thousands suffering Palestinian refugees in Lebanon except teaching them violence and destruction and arming one faction against another. No wonder if the Basij killed thousands of Iranian during the Green Revolution for asking freedom and democracy; why should they spare anyone else? This Hizb evil cancer must be cut off Lebanon for Lebanon to have any chance to survive.
Hizb is exerting some influence in this complex nefarious situation, but the primary responsibility lies with the Zionist entity and its European colonizers. Europe should consider welcoming Palestinians, just as they did with Ukrainians, to provide humanitarian assistance and support those in need.
Why not try and go back to August 1947 when Pakistan broke off from India and millions of Moslem refugees moved to the new state. Now 76 years later none of their decendents (probably great grandchildren) demand to go back to their ancestors places of birth. Why you may ask? Because the new Republic of Pakistan accepted them and absorbed them with full rights. If the Arab states in 1948 would have done this, then there would, for instance, be no Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp, or for all that matter any other camp spread out through the Arab world.
Philippo. You always call settlment of pals in lebanon. But pals are majority moslems. While Lebanon was created for Christians. True, lebanese moslems bred like rabbits and now are a majority. So we have our own moslem problem. We dont need yours. You fail to see this subtelty.
