Advisor to the Turkish president, Irshad Hormuzlu, denied on Saturday reports that Turkey had informed Lebanese authorities that the 11 Lebanese pilgrims abducted in Syria have entered Turkey, reported Voice of Lebanon radio.

He told VDL: “There is no definite information that they have entered Turkey.”

He added that there is not definite information about their exact whereabouts in Syria, revealing that several contacts are being held to settle this issue.

Hormuzlu expected that the issue will be resolved soon, saying that several efforts are being exerted to this end.

Asked about Prime Minister Najib Miqati’s visit to Turkey later on Saturday, he replied that the talks are not dedicated to discussing the case of the pilgrims.

The prime minister is scheduled to meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyib Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

The Turkish official contacted Miqati on Friday to confirm that the pilgrims are doing well.

MTV reported on Saturday that disputes over a possible ransom may be delaying their release.

The 11 pilgrims were kidnapped in Aleppo on Tuesday.

The Free Syrian Army has been accused of being behind the abduction, a claim it has denied.

On Thursday, the rebel army said it was making "every effort" to locate and release the pilgrims.

Conflicting reports had emerged on Friday about the exact timing of their arrival in Beirut and about whether or not they were handed over to Turkish authorities.

Guys,
I am sorry to advise I am now convinced we are at the dawn of a major war in the region as all the news seem to point in tht direction. I wish you all a safe period and take care.
this is based on the lates direction of things happening around us these days.
the talks with iran have failed dramatically apparently and the esclation against the syrian regime are clear indications of what is coming.

Come on we have lived 30yrs of war and experienced hundreds and hundreds of kidnappings, who showed the world community that they are the good guys after every western kidnapping?
In the end of this film the current regime will state that they caught the extremists kidnappers and Bashar was the one who released them, very similar to the Lebanese fisher boy who was killed and his uncle was released by Bashar after he was beaten to death.

nothing funny when innocent lifes are at stake.
your twisted mind finds it funny? what a jerk and a sick mind.

Geha. In theory what you are saying is true. But look at the whole situation.
It´s sad that innocent people are being held hostage but It´s a comedy carousel all this ( the politics around it).

Did you listen to the interview with the defense minister yesterday?
Did you listen to what the people thought and said outside the Beirut Airport?
Did you listen to future TV contra manar TV ( concerning this carousel)?

After letting the people celebrate, it turns out in the end that nobody, not even Hassan nasrullah or Hariri knows anything about the victims whereabouts.

" I want to thank Bashar Al Assad, Hassan Nasrullah, Nabih Berri, Saed Hariri and Turkey for bringing them back to us"

-But where are they?

Thumb geha 26 May 2012, 16:55

ulpianus.
if our politicians make a circus out of this sad situation, why should we? if we do, we are not better than those stupid people.

You are right. Lets make our voices count during the next elections and kick them all out.

I will do everything I can to find a party not affiliated with the ones we have seen in power last 20 years.

The only real information came from the opposition Free Syrian Army. “Contacts with the rebel group, which is present in Aazaz in Aleppo, has been interrupted since 8 p.m. on Friday,” FSA spokesperson Khaled Youssef al-Hammoud told Al-Jadeed earlier today. “The Syrian regime is preventing us from acting in order to resolve this issue… They shelled the team that we sent to conduct negotiations with the abductors.”
