Berri: Some Parties Bid to Settle Accounts with Syria Threatens Lebanon Security

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Speaker Nabih Berri on Sunday warned that “attempts by some people in Lebanon to settle political accounts with Syria represent a threat to Lebanon’s security and future.”

In a speech delivered by his representative, caretaker Health Minister Mohammed Jawad Khalife, at a ceremony in the southern town of al-Mseileh, Berri warned against “attempts to deviate attention in Lebanon towards the North instead of confronting the impending danger looming over Lebanon, Palestine and Syria due to Israel’s hostility on the southern front.”

Berri called on “the political ‘adventurers and teenagers’ to heed Lebanon’s real problems on the country’s southern border” and in the Lebanese domestic arena, urging them to “stop pouring oil on fire” and to “stop playing with fire.”

Mr. Berri, tell this to the Hezbollah fighters who have crossed into Syria from Lebanon to assist in "putting down the revolt" by joining in shooting down unarmed Syrian civilians in the streets.

Its not any of Lebanon's business to either support the Assad Regime or to obstruct it as it seeks to justify itself to its own people. We always wanted Syria to leave us in Lebanon alone. We have no justification for intervening now that the "Problem" has come to visit the home of the "Problem", Assad's Syria.

yeah when you all finished.. just a few things to take into consideration.

1- Dictatorship is bad , real bad, but in your desperation and keenness to get rid of the assad regime, you haven't sat down and thought about just "who" or what might be replacing it, if you think "democracy"? think again.

2- acting out such an action in this most unstable and fragile state and time is suicide.

3- Beiruti i don't know where you get your info but i'll pass on your news today.

4- for those who dream of a total independent lebanon from syria, i say think again, for any professional economist, strategist and geologist would agree that without syria lebanon is down crippled 75 percent, just imagine what happens if syria decides to close down their borders with us, you can kiss that economy goodbye for real this time.

on final thought i am for change in Syria however i am very very skeptical cause syria is no tunisia or egypt, its going to get very complicated.

Nabih Berri is nothing but a puppet for the syrian regime. He is at the top of those who actually and systematically destroyed Lebanon. It is unimaginable in any country the head of parliament heads an armed militia of thugs. He has purposely hindered institutions, participated in corruption, and extorted money through political influence. He often speaks as if he is a saint who cares about Lebanon. He is a thug who deserves to be thrown in the dumpster of history!

Nabih Berri is Lebanon's most lethal danger..not to mention the most corrupt too. Lebanon will only go back to route of recovery when Mr. Berri and his likes are no longer in power
