U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will return to Paris next week for talks on helping Lebanon cope with the overspill from the conflict in neighboring Syria, a U.S. diplomat said Tuesday.
In a letter to his newly named Lebanese counterpart, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced Thursday that the next meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon group would take place on March 5.

Nearly 2,000 Syrian refugee children in Lebanon are in danger of starving to death if they do not receive immediate treatment, UNICEF said Tuesday, warning of a looming malnutrition crisis.
"Malnutrition is a new, silent threat among refugees in Lebanon," said Annamaria Laurini, the U.N. children agency's representative in Beirut.

The Change and Reform parliamentary bloc on Tuesday called for finalizing the policy statement of the new cabinet “as soon as possible” to focus on resolving the pending issues and preparing for the upcoming presidential election.
“We must quickly move to legislative work through studying files, devising practical plans and going to parliament to prevent the suspension of legislation,” MP Ibrahim Kanaan said after the bloc's weekly meeting in Rabiyeh.
President Michel Suleiman hoped on Tuesday that a government policy statement will be approved before March 5.
He hoped that the statement will be approved and granted parliament's vote of confidence ahead of the International Support Group on Lebanon's meeting in Paris set for March 5 and 6.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday Israel was doing all that was "necessary" to ensure its security, following reports of an air raid against Hizbullah targets on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

A suspect was arrested on Tuesday for making bombs and transporting weapons and ammunition, reported the National News Agency.
It said that the Lebanese national, identified as Safeiddine M.R., 54, was arrested in the southern city of Tyre.
An Iranian Parliamentary delegation is expected to arrive in Lebanon on Tuesday on a four-day official visit to discuss with senior Lebanese officials means to help security agencies in their confrontation with uncontrolled terrorism.
According to al-Joumhouria newspaper, the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi will head the delegation.
