Air Canada Flight Delayed by Rockets over Tel Aviv, Lufthansa to Resume Flights Saturday

An Air Canada flight from Toronto was forced to circle the Tel Aviv airport before landing Friday after rockets were fired over the Israeli capital, an airline spokeswoman said.

"Eight kilometers away from landing at the Tel Aviv airport this morning, the pilots of Flight AC84 were ordered into a standard holding pattern by Israeli air traffic control," Air Canada spokeswoman Isabelle Arthur said.

Jordanians Demonstrate in Support of Gaza, Hamas

Thousands of Jordanians took to the streets of Amman and other cities Friday to support Hamas and condemn Israel's offensive in Gaza, where more than 800 Palestinians have been killed.

Blasts Targeting Shiites in Iraq's Kirkuk Kill Four

A series of blasts outside Shiite prayer halls killed four people and wounded 19 others on Friday in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, police and medical sources said.

The deadliest blast took place in a car park outside the Mustafa prayer hall, or husseiniya, in the city's southwest, where a car bomb killed four worshipers and wounded 15 others after they had finished prayers.

U.N. Health Agency Seeks Gaza 'Humanitarian Corridor'

The World Health Organization urged on Friday the creation of a humanitarian corridor in the besieged Gaza Strip to allow for the evacuation of the wounded.

"WHO is calling for the creation of a humanitarian corridor ... to reach various crossings and to help in the evacuation of the large number of injured people," said Paul Garwood, a spokesman for the U.N. health agency.
