The bombs that a 12-member terrorist network were planning to use in their plots for bombings and assassinations had been transported to Lebanon from Syria, investigators said.

The bombs were prepared in Syria and transported to Lebanon through illegal crossings, the investigators, who were not identified, told al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Friday.

The State Commissioner to the Military Court, Judge Saqr Saqr, has charged the 12 suspects, including a Lebanese and 2 Syrians who are in custody, with plotting terrorist activities and planning assassinations.

The three suspects were arrested by the General Security Department.

Al-Joumhouria's sources said that the network was planning the assassination of figures close to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad in addition to members of the March 14 alliance that is a staunch backer of the rebels fighting Assad's troops.

The announced charges against the ring include buying arms, rockets and bombs to plant them throughout Lebanese territories, and plotting assassinations against personalities in northern Lebanon.

The suspects were also planning to booby-trap vehicles.

Informed sources told the newspaper that a Palestinian, who has been recently arrested, had helped several terrorist networks prepare explosives in several areas.

Why do we still keep palestinians in our country while all they do is preparing terrorist acts? We should deport them en masse to KSA. Instead of KSA hiring indians, they could have arab labor.
