Elias Murr Appointed Head of INTERPOL Foundation for a Safer World

Former deputy Prime Minister and ex-Minister Elias Murr has been appointed the head of the INTERPOL Foundation for a Safer World for a seven-year term.
The appointment was made unanimously by INTERPOL's Executive Committee ahead of the organization's 82nd General Assembly held in Colombia.
The Assembly, which opened in Colombia on Monday, is focusing on the need for new strategies and measures to help law enforcement more effectively amid emerging global crime threats.

@Ice-Man: What is hilarious is that Elias el Murr is notorious for creating pseudo-problems - check out his CV for 2003 alone! - and avoiding actual crimes. What his appointment means is that every single jaywalker and litterer will now be sent to the ICC, while the murderers of Hariri, Tueni and co., the bombers all around Lebanon, and all the real criminals will be given a warning and a smile. At worst, a "yellow card", to use footballspeak. I'm guessing you weren't here (in Leb) in Spring 2003, were you?

I have always been with you in condemning Hassi and his ilk, but just because Murr happens to be in M14 does not absolve him of all the crimes he has committed against the youth of Lebanon circa 2003!
