Al-Mustaqbal movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri is holding large-scale talks with top officials from the March 14 alliance in Paris, An Nahar daily reported on Saturday.

Among those who have already arrived in the French capital are MPs Marwan Hamadeh and Butros Harb, and former lawmakers Samir Franjieh and Fares Soaid, who is also the March 14 general-secretariat coordinator, the newspaper said.

Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc leader MP Fouad Saniora is also expected to meet with Hariri, who on Friday held talks with MP Michel Murr.

A statement issued by Hariri's press office said Friday that the talks with Murr "focused on local and regional developments."

His meetings come amid reports that Premier-designate Tammam Salam intends to give up his task to form a new government.

Salam has been facing since April conditions and counter conditions set by the rival March 8 and March 14 alliances.

FT Saad looks Ridiculous. He didnt even prepare himself to address parliament.

Saad in himself is not impressive material. What is impressive is that his father sent north of 100,000 sunnites to college. By doing so, he lifted a whole generation of sunnites into middle class.
These 100,000 married and got kids and have families. Now half a million sunnites went out of poverty due to the actions of Hariri. This is why any Hariri could be their leader.

ft-

1- most scolarships were given before he became premier. Our national debt is not due to scolarships. It is mostly due to high interest rates of LL and to employing hordes and hordes of chiites needlessly in public administration by Berri. Plus of course thefts.. Hariri's biggest theft is Solidere.

2- Hariri RIP did steal the country BIG TIME while he was PM. But less so than Berri and others. Hariri's quadrupled his money during his tenure. Berri multiplied it by 100. Now that is a good R.O.I.

3- sunnis who work abroad usually return to lebanon, or send their money back to lebanon. So that is good.

4- Be pragmatic. Dont expect a genuinely moderate sunni leader to be chosen by lebanon's sunnis. Hariri is as moderate as sunnis get. Look around you to qaeda or ISIS or moslem brotherhood or annahda or the hard line wahabis. Hariri soft diluted wahabism is the maximum we can expect as a choice from our sunni brothers in lebanon.

as for finance and services.... You have a point. But this is what he knows to do. This is what most lebanese know to do. It is our competitive advantage. You cannot change the lebanese and make him industrious or a peasant. the lebanese is a merchant.

While Rafic Harriri created Middle Class, SHN undid most of that by ensuring poverty for all. HA can survive only if ignorance and poverty prevailed.

chopper,
The way i see it:
Hariri gave a fishing stick to the sunnites : education
Berri (and SHN to a lesser extent) give daily fish to shiites to keep them under control. They dont pay for university education but for primary education. They only pay for their health care and provide them with redundant jobs. this way shias keep asking for more.

This funny video is a result of forcing the Arabic language on us. It is high time we started writing in the same way we talk and we think. The time wasted in learning an unspoken language can be spent learing better things.
