Bashir has been charged along with his wife with embezzlement, smuggling and money laundering.
Bashir is the secretary-general of the HRC, which helps Lebanese citizens and communities hit by natural and man-made disasters.
Owaidat issued the warrant against him after questioning him for two hours, the state-run National News Agency reported. But he did not interrogate his wife for being hospitalized.
Two others have also been charged.
Local media reports have said they have embezzled around $10 million.
The defendants face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Good. Now how about the embezzlement of the country's wealth by the likes of Berri, Jumblat, Aoun, and Mikati? I wanted to say Hariri but he is the only one on the list who saw his wealth actually drop. All the others are besmella mashalla.
Of course he is honest a guy... If he is like sanyoura, michel murr, ghazi aridi and all this bunch of dishonest thieves he would free like them.
At least we are highly ranked in the most corrupted country list
