Israel Complains to U.N., Says Hizbullah Carrying Out 'Double War Crime'
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةIsrael has filed a complaint with the United Nations after a rocket attack from southern Lebanon and the killing of a soldier in a cross-border shooting.
In the letter of complaint to U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council, Israel’s ambassador Ron Prosor wrote that "the lack of leadership in Lebanon allows Hizbullah to operate against Israel and destabilize the region."
"Hizbullah has placed thousands of missiles and rockets within civilian population in southern Lebanon, in blatant violation of international law, rockets and missiles that are used for firing at Israel. Hizbullah thus carries out a double war crime,” Prosor said.
He asked for the Security Council's “intervention in the wake of the escalation in terrorist attacks from Lebanon into Israel in recent weeks.”
"Israel has shown restraint in light of recent events, but reserves the right to protect its citizens and take any necessary measures for this purpose” he warned.
“Israel holds the Lebanese government responsible for the escalation of violence in recent weeks,” Prosor wrote.
“In addition to the wave of rockets, armed fighters have been firing across the Blue Line into northern Israel throughout the month of December. And just last week, a member of the Lebanese Armed Forces shot and killed an Israeli.”
Rockets from Lebanon struck northern Israel on Sunday, causing no injuries but sparking an Israeli reprisal shelling.
Residents of the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona awoke to several large explosions. Shortly after, the Israeli military said it responded with artillery fired toward the source of the launch.
The National News Agency said more than 20 shells hit the mountainous region around the southern border area of Rashaya.
Earlier this month, a Lebanese army sniper killed an Israeli soldier, Shlomi Cohen, 31, as he drove along the volatile border.
The military later said the sniper had acted alone.
In fact Lebanon is the agressor thanks to Hizbullah. In the seventies, Lebanon was the agressor thanks to PLO. Our loose leadership has allowed Lebanon to become a firing site towards Israel and we wander why Israel needs to responds from time to time so agressively and why Israel violates the airspace of Lebanon eto make obersvations.
Until we get rid of Hizbullah weapons and build a strong state and army we will not have tranquility.
As history tells us, the only way to find stability is through freedom and peace. Hizbullah is taking away the freedom of Lebanese as it is a despotic armed militias that takes its order from despotic regimes and is not accountable to Lebanese people. It suppresses any notion of peace as its doctrine is war: just look at its flag: allah and a machine gun i.e. absolute fighting.
Who exactly is stopping the Government of the Republic of Lebanon from sitting down with the Government of the State of Israel and reaching a peace treaty?
When you give an answer to that simple question, you will know who is the troubleshooter in that region of the Middle East.
Who exactly: the ones who doesn't want Lebanon's interests, i.e. Hizbullah and Bashar's government, sold to Khomeini's interests.
lol the zionist fan club is here, good, i'll take that chance to ask you, since you are such peacepromoters, if you would support:
-returning all lebanese land to lebanon, including shebaa farms
-letting the palestinian refugees exercize their right of return
-stop violations of our territory, whether by land or air or agents infiltration or high spying etc...
-apply internationally recognized maritime conventions to determine the respective EEZ's of lebanon and israel.
shebaa farm liberation lies in damascus but of course hezbis will never ask bashar to hand the official papers declaring shebaa a lebanese land... not good for their fake "resistance" business....
Philippo, we have our farms and oyu guys have your Kibutz. We have our farmers, and you have your Kibutzim. You grow vegetables and fruits, here we produce monkeys that we call politicians and mafia, and generation after generation. Between them, they have stolen everything that belongs to the people of Lebanon, our peace included. Till we can get rid of them, maybe in the coming century that is.
call it what you want, shebaa is lebanese and we want it back.
thank you for your response, it shows who it being duplicitous, saying they want peace, but start making threats the second you demand what is rightfully yours.
peace: you're an incurable liar who gets proven wrong over and over but still comes back to repeat the same propaganda lies.
being misinformed is forgivable, but after proving it to you a hundred times i'm now convinced you're willingly lying.

"Government officials in Jerusalem said the UN cartographer handling the matter in recent months has determined that the area is indeed Lebanese. The officials added that Syria and Lebanon also agree that the area is Lebanese. Therefore, the UN has said there is no reason for Israel not to relinquish control over the area. "
let me expose YOUR hezbi lies mooowaten...
"The Lebanese government, dominated by Hezbollah and its allies, claims Shebaa Farms for itself. Syria, a patron of Hezbollah, has not openly rejected this revisionism. But neither has Damascus transferred its claim to sovereignty to Beirut.

"In 2008, Syria engaged in several rounds of Turkish-sponsored diplomatic talks with Israel. U.S. diplomats see a golden opportunity to decouple Syria from Iran by forcing Israel to return territory Syria lost in the 1967 war. However, as a result of the Shebaa Farms dispute, the Syrian regime has made this infinitely more complicated.
(...) Next on the agenda should be American insistence that any border rectification that Syria seeks must include a definitive designation of the Shebaa Farms, complete with signed maps. Nothing less must suffice for overturning the accepted Israeli-Syrian international boundary enshrined by the law and practice of decades."http://www.jewishpolicycenter.org/831/syria-and-the-shebaa-farms-dispute
hahahahaha awesome peace, you just quoted a letter by ERIC ROZENMAN, Director of a zionist lobbying group, to counter arguments by international experts and cartographers which are backed by the UN.
you're saying the UN hasen't received confirmation from syria, when the UN itself said several years ago that it had. you are really something peace, clinging on to any piece of trash in your desperate stumbling.
"Director of a zionist lobbying group, to counter arguments by international experts and cartographers which are backed by the UN."
and your idiotic arguments is to quote an israeli newpaper... LOL so your israeli shit is trustable but not mine? just to prove you how BIASED you are... haaretz is not zionist? LOL
go to the UN official site... and see who is right! LOL
EVEN if everyone agrees that chebaa is lebanese, till your master bashar has not given THE OFFICIAL documents, no laws can be enforced... LOL
seems haaretz is not a piece of trash for you! only when it suits your stupid arguments huh? LOL
poor moooooowaten....
"Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms belong to Lebanon. Assad told a news conference in Paris before ending a state visit to France, Beirut and Damascus will demarcate their countries' border at Shebaa Farms after Israel withdraws from the region. They will then submit a new map to the UN."http://www.shebaafarms.org/briefhistory.html
The Syrians won’t demarcate the Shebaa Farms because of Israeli occupation. The Israelis won’t leave the farms because they are not demarcated, and Hezbollah won’t abandon their weapons because the Shebaa farms are still occupied....
LOL
"The ambiguity can be resolved through a Syrian-Lebanese agreement that produces tangible maps. So far, the Lebanese have nothing to show but oral statements from the Syrians. Syrian officials, including Syria's foreign minister, say that Shebaa Farms are Lebanese. But documents are lacking. Lebanon needs signed maps to offer to the UN. Only by doing so, Lebanon would be able to get the Israelis out of Shebaa."
http://weekly.ahram.org.eg/2006/809/op1.htm
@ mooowaten the liar...
hezbi needs shebaa to be occupied to justify their presence ... they have nothing patriotic in it but only low interests against lebanese people....
you really are dumb. sorry but it's true.
a zionist propaganda group says syria didnt confirm it, but the UN says they did, and it is ACKNOWLEDGED by an israeli newspaper (so nobody can say it's anti-israeli propaganda lies). matter solved. no amount of your verbal diarrhea will change anything.
LOL sure israeli newspapers are to be trusted! LOL hezbis trusting israelis...whahahahaha!
seems you are in a deep SH... Mr diahorrea!
seems you and FT have a problem with fecal matters...still haven't gone through the scatologic phase of your development....
Question: Can you comment on the accuracy of reports that are claiming that the UN has recommended that the Shebaa Farms go back to Lebanon?
"Deputy Spokesperson: On that, the UN has not asked the Government of Israel to hand over the Shebaa Farms to the United Nations. The United Nations cartographer continues his work to determine the geographic scope of the Farms. His mandate is not to determine the sovereignty over the Shebaa Farms. That issue will be decided through discussions with the parties, that is, Lebanon, Syria and Israel. And the Secretary-General remains engaged in that issue."
http://www.un.org/News/briefings/docs/2007/db070711.doc.htm
see mooowaten that your claims are false , as usual... and he trusts haaretz! LOL
take your sources directly from the UN and not from a zionist piece of sh....
laughable mooowaten
You must give credit to Israel. Not every day a mass criminal can accuse an regular criminal of war crimes - And with a straight face!!
Even Hizb supporters know that, but they don't care at all about the fate of Lebanon. They have their separate terrorist flag, as you noticed.
oh right, so the blue flag of mustaqbal means they're not lebanese, right?
cant believe grown up adults can still be so mentally limited that they get stuck on a flag for decades...
i see things are kicking off nicely between ice-boy and terrorists. there are clubs for men like you, you know?
Even Hizb supporters know that, but they don't care at all about the fate of Lebanon. They have their separate terrorist flag, as you noticed.
The Charade between Israel and HA continues. HA fires couple of rockets damaging a banana tree and Israel attacks Lebanon (not HA) to pre-empt the arming and strengthening of the LAF thus keeping Lebanon under the grip of HA who promised Israel peaceful borders. They are on the same team, Israel gets seccurity and HA gets Lebanon.
this is dangerous:
it is the prelude to a new war.
Israel is preparing the world scene for this new war.
what else can we expect from hizbushatan except drawing wars on us?
Why does this article not mention the 10 fold so called retaliation by Israel as a so called response to this. Once again Lebanon is portrayed as the agressor which is not the case.
Dear All Participant on this site
I would like to wish you all a happy 2014.
Hoping that the new year will bring a greater respect of the other opinion and embrace diversity.
I also Hope that Justice and Peace can be reached in this region of the world.
Love is the answer
wish all the Lebanese a good 2014 year, peaceful and free from any hegemony or terrorists.
Mowaten - you bring up a few points, exactly what needs to be discussed around the table of peace talks.
What you want are preconditions which no country would agree to.
and the rights of lebanese is to have only ONE army... and decide of the future of your "lebanese" militia....
stop trying to copy sentences when it has become clear you have no brains to process them.
resistance is also an internationally recognized rights, it's even carved into the UN charters.
then why do NO lebanese have their word to say concerning this FAKE national resistance? it is also carved in the rights of the citizens to have a say in the fate of their country! LOL
seems your brains are empty so you assume eveyone else's too! LOL do not compare your lack of neurones to my perfectly well functionning ones....
So Israel has the right to lodge a complaint at the UN but reserves the right to violate our airspace on a daily basis and steal additional Palestinian land.
And they want peace!!
Yea right !!
Terrorist
We provided the Syrian people with a weapon that Bashar Assad cannot defeat. It is called Freedom. Now the Syrian people want it in their own country
Bashar Iran and Co cannot defeat it
Ahh...the economic card again. Why cant you shiah militia people understand that a peaceful Middle East will be a prosperous Middle East. Look to Europe after WW2. All nations, including former arch rivals and foes, has experienced an economic upturn unpresedented in history. Peace gives increased investments. Do you really believe that Israel fight over oranges and canned hummus and baba ghanoush?
Soutjern
So if HA is needed more than ever, what is he doing in Syria? HA should be on Lebanese Israeli border
Don't you think?
Southern
Not quite convincing my friend. Correct me if I am wrong but a significant number or Jihadists are in Lebanon already, mostly in Palestinian camps. So being preventive to me means HA should kick those out of Lebanon instead of supporting Bashar and 'liberating" Quosseir
Don't you think?
Southern
Preventive? Hard to convince specially when a significant number of Jihadists are already in Lebanon, mostly in Palestinian camps, while HA is helping Bachar "liberate' Quosseir. instead of liberating Lebanon from these extremists..
hummm preventive indeed!!!
The filthy militia needs to have all these fallos symbols erected to proove they are men. Without these missiles they are nothing.
Forget Israel ... Hezbollah has been and is still committing warcrimes in Lebanon and Syria.
Every bullet they shoot, they commit a war crime.
Hassan Nasrallah should be judged for these crimes.
There is no possible excuse to not hold him accountable.
The problem here is that HA is acting like the cannibals, their sectarianism and corruption is killing the country they pretend to protect.
What's 400 ridiculous "terrorists" vs 40,000 Hezbollah terrorists ?
You are the pure definition of a NAIVE LEBANESE !
The propensity to which matters occur in Lebanon is dizzying to be honest. When Israel needs a lending hand, Hezbollah is always here, and when Hezbollah needs a helping hand, Israel is always here to help, it's called the friendship bailout covenant. In realpolitik it's nothing new, even enemies do it once in a while between themselves, but when the gesture becomes too often then one can only lend himself to what was always doubted, a friend in need is a friend indeed.
Exactly, HA and Israel are working in tandem to keep Lebanon in a state that benefits both..... security for Israel and Lebanon and its resources for HA/Iran. The Saber rattling taking place now is to pre-empt the arming and strengthening of the LAF.
I recall it was the Phalangists, Lebanese forces, and SLA that gave Israel that lending hand, during the civil war & afterwards.
Yes, and SLA was mainly shiah. Faced with the cancer of Arafats PLO, which had all but taken over southern Lebanon and war/peace decicions from the Lebanese people, many Christians turned to Israel as their last hope. Today, as Lebanese are facing another cancer in Hezbollah, it could be that history will repeat itself. I dont think that there will be open support for Israel, but in a choise between two evils...
HApatriot123,
Well said, but HA must go and give way to the LAF and the Democratic process in Governing. What you said about the power of HA and its fighters is true, but it is that same power that corrupted them to the bone and it is their allegiance to Welayat Elfaqih that is destroying the country they liberated from Israel. Either agree with me or change your avatar to say HApatriot
Hey izrael why don't you file that complaint in the who gives a rats bum basket you scum violate every law known to mankind and get away with it so who cares when you complain
The jews have a saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend i wonder who it refers to in lebanon
re Flamethrower
Its just that you mentioned three groups that co-operated with the Israelis, and I just mentioned that one of those were mainly shiah, which shows that there is certainly potential for a shiah-Israeli project which some says thats excactly what Hezbollah is,
