Several March 14 Figures Threatened

Several prominent March 14 politicians and media figures, who oppose Syria's regime and its ally Hizbullah, have been threatened, the state-run National News Agency reported on Sunday.

The report comes less than a fortnight after a car bombing in central Beirut killed eight people including anti-Syria former finance minister and member of the March 14 coalition Mohammed Shatah.

The NNA said Strida Geagea, a Christian member of parliament, March 14 member and wife of Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea, had a series of threats sent to her mobile phone.

"At 5:00 pm (15:00 GMT) on January 4, MP Strida Geagea started receiving calls on her mobile phone from several local, international and hidden numbers," the agency said, quoting the politician's media office.

A statement said Geagea's colleagues answered the calls, and heard "personal threats against her life, insults and obscenities".

More such calls came on Sunday, the NNA said.

The threats were reported to the security forces, whom Geagea's office said should "take the necessary measures" to identify the callers.

A string of other figures have received similar threats, the statement said.

They include al-Mustaqbal lawmaker Ahmed Fatfat, outspoken TV presenter Nadim Koteich and assassination attempt survivor and journalist May Chidiac.

All are seen as high-profile opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime and its ally, Hizbullah.

Hizbullah sent thousands of fighters into Syria to help Assad's troops in their bid to crush the revolt that erupted nearly three years ago.

Reports have also emerged that Sunni politician and al-Mustaqbal MP Khaled al-Daher, a fierce critic of the Damascus regime, has also received threats against his life.

Shatah's death on December 27 was the latest in a string of nine high-profile assassinations of Syria critics that began in February 2005 with former prime minister Rafik Hariri's murder.

Syria and Hizbullah have systematically denied any links to the attacks.

The trial of Rafik Hariri's alleged killers by the U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon is due to open on January 16.

Four members of Hizbullah are to be tried in absentia for the suicide bombing that killed Hariri and 22 others on the Beirut seafront in 2005.

A fifth suspect, Hassan Habib Merhi, was indicted in October.

Syria dominated Lebanon for nearly 30 years until the international outcry over Hariri's killing forced Assad's troops out.

However, Damascus still exerts influence over Lebanon through its allies.

Who wanna bet who's gonna be next victim of the syro-iranian agents ?

Thumb mckinl 06 January 2014, 11:29

Political figures from all parties are receiving threats ... M14 broadcasts their threats to get sympathy ...

Why? Because everybody knows that M14 is backed by the KSA who is responsible for the most recent bombings that's why ...

Missing greatpierro 06 January 2014, 13:27

Ok lets say it´s true. But do you have proofs?

Missing peace 06 January 2014, 15:51

how can he? he cannot support his M8 lies...

Thumb _mowaten_ 06 January 2014, 14:13

drama queens... m14 should wake up and realize the unholy alliance of takfiris and israelis is what is killing them

Missing peace 06 January 2014, 15:50

and you should realize your lies as a brave M8 propagandist....

This is very reminiscent of elie marouni planting grenades on his car to get some attention and best of all, geagea's magical escape while picking flowers.

Missing greatpierro 06 January 2014, 13:30

Pierre Gemayel did not escape. Regarding Geagea magical escape there are strong proofs however. The police found trace of three men that attempted to kill Geagea.

Thumb _mowaten_ 06 January 2014, 14:15

the car used by the assasination team was later found to be one of the lebanese forces members.
they denied saying the assassins "copied the car"... lol?

Thumb EagleDawn 06 January 2014, 08:12

Must be Israel.

Thumb makhaleh 06 January 2014, 11:03

Lol thats funny

Thumb mckinl 06 January 2014, 12:17

The only assassination in Southern Lebanon done by Israel was the killing of Hajj Hassan Hawlo al-Lakkis. The rest, all by car bombs, were the work of KSA Qaeda groups, and that includes Shatah ...

Missing peace 06 January 2014, 15:52

sure... and we all believe you :)

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 08:18

the threats have been on going for over 20 personalities so far, and they are intense. all the speakers have a Lebanese accent.

and they say hizbushaitan has nothing to do with the killing of m14 leadership.

Default-user-icon Shuwala Kraym (Guest) 06 January 2014, 09:36

So what are you going to do about it now that you have finally identified the culprits? Call the STL farce? Personally, I suggest that March 14 subtract 6 to become March 8. It's just a simple mathematical equation. Just fool the shaitans with this trick. How come you did not think about it, Inspector Gadget, huh?

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 11:15

if your theory is correct, why doesn't hizbusshaitan ease all fears of the Lebanese and do the following:
- accept a non partisan cabinet
- stop its threats
- act as Lebanese.

see, the problem is there is only hizbushaitan that is threatening all the others publicly and bombing and killing all those who oppose them.

and what is funny, you want us to look for others for our problems. those others who are employing the Lebanese people, and helping our economy, and now arming our army, without ever asking us for anything in return.

strange theory.

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 11:15

I am fed up about hearing about hizbushaitan freeing the south!

in 1982 the Israelis reached Beirut without a single shot being fired at them by the elements of hizbushaitan, and the regions controlled by hizbushaitan were the only ones where the Israeli army never entered, leaving them their weapons.

furthermore, later on, when hizbushaitan was killing the reall resistance in the back, r fighting with amal over control of the south, they were having logistical support from Israel, whether for ammunitions or hospitalizations.

for those who will be asking: the source is the army intelligence records, which you can see if you are connected :)

Default-user-icon dateam (Guest) 06 January 2014, 12:08

hezbollah wasnt formed in 1982...the shiites had nothing when israel invaded? When israel invaded the rest of the country was already killing each other...it was the nationalists that originally started resisting.

Thumb lonerider 06 January 2014, 13:28

@Geha. In 1982 Hizbollah didn't exist and the Israelis entered all Shia villages on their way to Beirut. The Shia didn't fight off the Israelis because they didn't have weapons and they also were fed up with Palestinians abusing them. The resistance formed after the Israelis decided to occupy those villages.

I am certain you are aware of these facts and you are just frustrated because you are a Takfiri supporter and now you see Hizbollah destroying your Takfiris who were threatening Lenanese Shia in Lebanon. It only makes sense that Hizbollah go to Syria. Many nations have troops all over the world to support their citizens and interests. Unfortunately our army is not strong enough to do that.

Thumb lonerider 06 January 2014, 13:33

Furthermore Geha, Hizbollah has vocally supported a political solution to the revolution in Syria. They have not once said they don't support the Syrian people.
You can be frustrated and start spreading lies Geha but that won't buy you sympathy. This goes for March 14 also. They are not controlling their own destiny. KSA will keep them in the abyss to protect themselves from an Arab spring or an Al-Qaeda coup.

Thumb mckinl 06 January 2014, 11:34

@ geha

Advertising these threats is just propaganda to get sympathy and cover the fact that the M14 sponsor the KSA is responsible for the most recent bombings.

The fact is that "personalities" from all parties are receiving threats daily ... I would bet that many of these threats on M14 are staged by M14 as false flag propaganda.

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 11:40

prove your theory right!

all phone numbers are available, why not ask the ministry of telecom to supply who are the owners of these phones?

all messages and phone calls from Lebanon at least can be immediately identified :)

other than that, build whatever theories you want, but they will remain inconsistent without proofs.

Thumb mckinl 06 January 2014, 12:12

@ geha

Seeing the misinformation, slander, hatred and lies spread about M8 just on this sight I there is no doubt in my mind that agents of M14 are making terrorist threats on their own members to get sympathy and pave the way for more KSA "purges" of moderate and secular M14 members.

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 12:16

yes the eternal theory of m14 killing themselves :)

you really have to be an m8 to say such things :)

funny hizbushaitan followers :) :)

you make me laugh, please continue.

Missing greatpierro 06 January 2014, 13:36

Thumb saturn 06 January 2014, 09:41

Poor Lebanese, so easy to trick. Civil war just a prank call away!

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 12:18

yes for you a self respecting Lebanon has to be represented by nasralla, qaoul and raad who execute the Iranian orders to kill and bomb.....

what a failed person you are ft.

Thumb mckinl 06 January 2014, 12:25

geha you are excellent at ignoring facts... The facts are that all the car bombings in Beirut and Southern Lebanon, including Shatah, as well as the shelling of Israel are the work of KSA Qaeda ...

Thumb geha 06 January 2014, 12:31

in dahieh: probably.

by not the one of Chatah! this is clearly the work of hizbushaitan! the 3 guys who prepared this are known.

Thumb mckinl 06 January 2014, 12:44

@ geha

Indeed the trail of the Shatah car bomb has been laid at the feet KSA Qaeda ... preparation was probably by Majid al Majid in Ein-el-Helweh. The only question I have is: Was Majid al Majid poisoned?

Thumb primesuspect 06 January 2014, 13:11

M8 = zo3ran and terroristas. There should be bounties and the heads of the bosses. A few millions for each of them. A few thousands for the less popular terrorists.

Thumb proudm14 06 January 2014, 14:14

did anyone else notice that whenever someone M14 gets killed its in the Beirut area? in other words, close enough to the HA stronghold of dahye, since their reach/capabilities does not extend into the north?

Thumb proudm14 06 January 2014, 14:17

I think that HA would be very stupid to try and go after Strida or Hakim. LF is still armed, make no mistake about it.

Thumb proudm14 06 January 2014, 14:38

we don't have new friends hiding in the PLO camps, we have new friends who have taken over half of Syria from your God-king Bashar and they will soon be marching on Damascus. After that is all done, the siege of HA begins.

Thumb proudm14 06 January 2014, 15:10

How many M14 leaders were assassinated versus M8 leaders?...

Default-user-icon Truth (Guest) 06 January 2014, 16:09

To the_roar

Aoun is responsible for the defeat of Christians in Lebanon more than anyone else and by far... It was his war of elimination against the Lebanese Forces that put an end to the Christian power in Lebanon... His stupid war of Liberation brought the disaster that is called the Taef accord... Your general Aoun is a low life little tinpot dictator whose is totally obsessed with power and totally obsessed of becoming President... He pledged to die among his soldiers the night before the Syrian invasion of the Christian region and few hours after the battle started he fled as the coward he is and took refuge in the French embassy... You Aoun followers are cultists, you are too stupid and too blind to see how dangerous this man is to Lebanon and the Christians in particular in his alliance with Hizballah terrorist group or rather his slavery to Hizballah terrorist group...

Thumb smarty 06 January 2014, 17:10

The Shiites, - alawite or regular shiites- are threatening and killing our LEBANESE Christian and Sunni political representatives. After killing the Christian leadership, they'll target the regular average Christians who disagree with them. The Sunni is already in their scope's Crosshair.... We need to fight Iran and it's men present on our soil, not outside Lebanon. Syria, Iraq, etc, is none of our business

Thumb cedre 06 January 2014, 20:57

like mohamed chatah once said, m8/m14 is not a normal political partisan division, it's a division between supporters of a free lebanon and those of a lebanon submitted to the syro-iranian duo...
